If you have/had used Calibre,

  • what were your favorite features, and
  • what do you wish a new version could do?

Im curious about this because it can help prioritize which modules/components we need to think more about as we try and update them!

    Thanks for kicking this off! And yeah, I think it’s a great idea to kind of brainstorm what some new features might be, especially if we decide to reposition Arcalibre as more than an archival fork.

    Some initial thoughts off the top of my head:

    • Expanded device support
      • reMarkable / 2 / Paper Pro / Move (possibly via rcu)
    • Support for tracking physical books
    • Support for writing plugins in languages other than Python, perhaps via WASM.

      Yeah the physical tracking is big for me too, esp if a barcode reading is an input option!

      Also I would love to have UI theming like VS Code/Codium <3
